Gateway to Michigan's finest fly-fishing
The Manistee is currently running low with some green color and we could still use some rain. The salmon run is in full swing and it feels like peak. There are still fresh fish in pools, but a lot of fish hit gravel this week and are spawning.
Fall fishing is in full swing across Northern Michigan, and the rivers are transitioning from the peak of salmon season toward the arrival of fall steelhead. Chinook (King) and coho salmon remain the main attraction on several local rivers, while trout anglers can still find opportunities on our inland waters.
The Manistee is currently running low and clear and in need of some rain. The salmon run is in full swing and should have plenty more fresh fish to come. Fish are on gravel, with some in the pools, runs, and staging areas. Steelhead numbers are building daily.
